Freecycle and a new upholstering project

If you have not joined freecycle yet, you are really missing out. I joined last week having read about it in a magazine and it's really amazing the kind of stuff people are offering for free (you only have to collect them) bags of cables or bibs, shelves, paving slabs and although you have to sift through lots of things you would never want there are a few gems.

This morning I picked up a pair of Wassily chairs, free, they have no upholstering but that can be my next project and they will look pretty smart when they are finished. Designed by Marcel Breuer in 1925-26 they are a iconic design from the Bauhaus era, they are obviously not originals but even the contemporary versions are £300 to buy new.

Very happy with my find, just have to decide what material and colour to upholster them it in.
